FAQ & What to Expect

 How do I book?

Simply press the "contact me" button on my website and send me a message!

A $50 deposit with signed contract/model release is required (for private session please see below).

What time of day do you prefer to photograph & where do you shoot?

Most outdoor sessions take place in the late afternoon to avoid harsh lighting. Our beautiful parks and beaches are among some of the greatest locations for sessions. Infant sessions are typically done in my home studio, but can be done in your home or outdoor as well.

What should we wear, and should we bring anything? Here are a few suggestions:

-nude is best

-Anything special you want your newbie to be photographed with (all props are provided- bringing something is optional)

-mom: black or white tank or short-sleeved shirt

-dad: black or white shirt

-siblings: a simple black or white dress shirt with jeans, or a dress is fine

Maternity

How long after my session can I see the photographs?

2-3 weeks after your session I will give you a password to your private online gallery. These images will be available to view and order from for one week.

At what stages in my child's development do you typically photograph them for the Watch Me Grow Sessions?

- 1st Session: Maternity. In the womb.

- 2nd Session: Up to 2 weeks old. Sleepy newborns are best! A good feeding, clean diaper, and warm house are recommended! This session MUST be done before your baby is 2 weeks old.

- 3rd Session: 4 months old. Big gummy smiles, tummy time, and lots of drool!

- 4th Session: 8 months old. Sitting, scooting, and playing!

- 5th Session: 1 year old. A Mini Cake Bashing Session (in studio) OR 1 hour of shooting at your little one's 1st Birthday Party. Bring on the cake and smiles!

Can I be in any of the photos? Yes!

Can I include a studio shoot to one or all of the sessions? Sure! Anything is possible. I can work with you to fit your needs. (Cake bash included in package).

When should I schedule my session? The sooner the better. I recommend booking your wedding at least 6 months in advance to ensure availability.

Do you offer "private" sessions? Yes, if a private session is wanted the session fees are doubled. Otherwise a model release/signed contract is required to book.

Why aren't all sessions private? As a client, you are commissioning Rachel Higgins Photography to take photographs and create art of you and your family. Without displaying my art I would not have a portfolio, nor would anyone hire me.
